Many have described energy efficiency as the low-hanging fruit for reducing greenhouse gases as well as helping us cut our rising electric bills. In Washington, DC a couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to be in the room when new DOE Secretary Steven Chu described it as “fruit lying on the ground.”
Translation: Energy efficiency is the cheapest, fastest and cleanest source of energy and is available now. Consider that energy efficiency:
- is one of the few weapons we have in our aresenal that is cost-effective (it saves you money);
- reduces greenhouse gas emissions and improves our electric reliability;
- includes technologies that already exist with more being developed for buildings, homes, transportation, power systems, and industry;
- holds great potential for creating lots of jobs, from plumbers to energy auditors, architects to air conditioning technicians.
Those of us who work in energy efficiency are happy to have the full support of the new presidential administration, but not everything happens at the national level. There are initiatives states and cities can undertake and things that individuals can do to reduce their energy consumption and lower their bills. Learn ways to save energy and money at home.
I’ll be posting more to this blog in the coming weeks and look forward to comments and creating a dialogue about how we can make energy efficiency happen in Texas.

I have always been interested in renewable energy. Ths post has enlightened me with some new ideas. Id like to start saving money on my energy bills and I know many people are already doing it. I found this site, it seems
like a good way to start my own renewable energy system at home.
A pleasure to come to your site. Thnks very much!
This is a very interresting topic, I’ll have to check out the feeds.
As a Newbie, I am always searching online for articles that can help me. Thank you
Hey very nice blog!! Man .. Beautiful .. Amazing .. I will bookmark your blog and take the feeds also…
Great entry. I think what we learn here is no energy source is completely green (even windmills can kill birds). We must strive as a world community to drastically reduce our energy & fuel consumption while choosing the least experimentally impacting energy sources.
I was very pleased to find this site. I wanted to thank you for this great read!! I definitely enjoying every little bit of it and I have you bookmarked to check out new stuff you post.

Very nice post I enjoy your blog keep up the good articles.
what is the best way? As gross (and uncomfortable) as it sounds…getting a colonic works best. I’ve tried the dual action crap (no pun intended lol) in the past, and all it did was give me terrible gas and keep me anchored to the bathroom 24/7.
People deserve very good life and home loans or collateral loan will make it much better. Because people’s freedom relies on money.
What I dont understand is how youre not even more popular than you are now. Youre just so intelligent. You know so much about this subject, made me think about it from so many different angles. Its like people arent interested unless it has something to do with Lady Gaga! Your stuffs great. Keep it up!
