Each month, the Energy Exchange rounds up a list of top clean energy conferences around the country. Our list includes conferences at which experts from the EDF Clean Energy Program will be speaking, plus additional events that we think our readers may benefit from marking on their calendars.

Top clean energy conferences featuring EDF experts in August:

Aug 17-22: 2014 ACEEE Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Buildings, Pacific Grove, CA
Speaker: Jamie Fine, Senior Economist

  • The 2014 Summer Study is the 18th biennial American Council for an Energy-Efficiency Economy conference on Energy Efficiency in Buildings. A diverse group of professionals from around the world will gather at this pre-eminent meeting to discuss the technological basis for, and practical implementation of, actions to reduce energy use and the climate impacts associated with buildings. The Summer Study enables sharing ideas and engaging in dialog with leading thinkers, visionaries, and luminaries in the field, while in the midst of the magnificent natural setting of Asilomar Conference Grounds.

Other top clean energy conferences across the U.S. in August:

Aug 4-6: AESP’s Summer Conference & Expo, San Francisco, CA

  • The road to implementing and evaluating successful energy efficiency programs is seldom straight or smooth. Fortunately, you are not traveling alone. At the Association for Energy Service Professionals’ summer conference, you will hear from various experts who have “been there, done that,” and will share their experiences, results, and, most importantly, lessons learned so you can map your plan for success. But equally as important, the conference will also focus on strategies to integrate evaluation and implementation into the process to achieve incrementally better outcomes.

Aug 24-25: NextWave Greentech Investing, Menlo Park, CA

  • Building on the success of the inaugural conference in 2013, NextWave 2014 will move beyond establishing a thesis for successful investing in clean energy technology and services to deeper dives into areas where activity is most pronounced – solar power, the ongoing disruption of the electric utility business model, cleanweb, and clean energy project finance. Join Greentech Media for this year’s conference where we will bring together investors, LPs, entrepreneurs, and corporate decision makers. NextWave will provide a forum to network and discuss the opportunity around greentech market reinvention and the sustained returns to the investor and entrepreneur community.

Aug 28-29: CIO Utilities Summit, Phoenix, AZ

  • For leaders in the utilities industry, it is critical to develop best practices and keep up with new technologies. With a focus on energy conservation and cost saving, utility industry professionals have been able to utilize IT advancements to reach their goals. The CIO Utilities Summit will bring together C-level IT executives and innovative thinkers in the utilities industry to brainstorm, strategize, and discuss industry challenges in the IT realm. Networking opportunities throughout the event allow participants to create lasting relationships and share their failures, successes, and critical knowledge.
