Aug. 21-26:  ACEEE Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Buildings (Pacific Grove, CA)

Speaker: Abbey Brown, Clean Energy Project Manager

• The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) is a non-profit that advances energy efficiency policies, programs, technology, investment, and behavior. The summer study will be ACEEE’s 19^th biennial conference about building energy efficiency. A diverse group of professionals from around the world will gather to discuss the technological basis for, and practical implementation of, reducing energy use and the climate impacts associated with buildings. The event enables sharing of ideas and dialog among leading thinkers, visionaries, and luminaries, in the midst of a magnificent natural setting. On the first day of the conference, Abbey Brown will speak about using outreach to advance regulation and drive efficiency.

Aug. 16-18:  Association of Energy Services Professionals Summer Conference & Expo (Chicago, IL)

• The Association of Energy Services Professionals (AESP) is a member-based group that facilitates energy efficiency, energy management, and distributed renewable resources, like home solar panels. The theme for AESP’s summer conference is “Technology – The Great Game Changer,” focusing on how energy efficiency technology is driving change in the energy industry. Technology that is taking demand response to new levels includes smart meters, analytics software, storage, electric vehicles, and microgrids. The summer conference offers opportunities to network and share money-saving, innovative techniques and strategies for companies and organizations. Extra conference activities include a tour of the ComEd utility training facility in Chicago, as well as a training course, “How to Build, Implement, and Evaluate a Customer Engagement Program.”
