Top clean energy conferences featuring EDF experts in February:
February 3-5: Energy, Utility & Environment Conference (San Diego, CA)
Speaker: John Finnigan, Lead Attorney, U.S. Climate and Energy
- The 19th annual energy, utility, and environment conference will feature more than 500 presentations by experts in tracks that include battery and energy storage, climate management, smart grid and risk management, energy policy and efficiency, renewable energy, the Clean Power Plan, permits and compliance, and many more. February 16-19: UT Energy Week (Austin, TX)
Speaker: Jim Marston, Vice President, U.S. Climate and Energy
- During this second annual event, experts in academia, industry, government, and the non-profit world will take a fresh look at some of the most vital energy issues facing society. Full-day programs include the role of natural gas and renewables in reforming the Mexican power sector (Feb. 16); energy and society (Feb. 17); utilities and the grid (Feb. 18); and challenges in the oil and gas industry (Feb. 19).
February 26-27: New Directions in Environmental Law 2016 (New Haven, CT)
Speaker: Andy Darrell, Chief of Strategy, Global Energy and Finance- Under this year’s theme of Cascading Change,this conference will highlight opportunities and controversies in the environmental field, focusing on individuals and organizations that are reshaping our legal, social, political, and physical environments.
February 29-March 2: ERCOT Market Summit (Austin, TX)
Speaker: John Hall, Texas State Director, Clean Energy- The EPA’s Clean Power Plan along with continued low gas prices are likely to drive the closure of many coal-fired generation units. How will the ERCOT market respond? This summit will examine the changing market rules and drivers, bringing policy-makers together with utility, independent power producers, demand response, and energy storage executives to explore potential opportunities and alternatives to meet Texas’ future power needs.

February 1-4: Association of Energy Service Professionals 26th National Conference & Expo (Phoenix, AZ)
- Experts in a variety of disciplines will lead more than 60 sessions that cover a range of topics in program design, implementation, pricing, marketing, research, evaluation, and more. The conference will kick-off with optional pre-conference training courses, utility-only discussions, an evening reception, and a new professionals’ event. Following will be three days of speaker presentations, panel discussions, interactive roundtables, fast-track learning spots, and networking events.

February 8: SmartGrid Consumer Symposium (Orlando, FL)
- SmartGrid Consumer Collaborative’s annual symposium focuses on consumer trends and issues shaping the smart grid. Industry stakeholders will take away proactive approaches to communicating the value of smart grid investments to consumers. The conference will be co-located in the Orange County Convention Center with the DistribuTECH 2016 conference and exhibition (Feb. 9-11); WiGrid 2016 (Feb. 8); the Utility Women Networking Breakfast, hosted by ABB (Feb. 10); and the Power Play Forum, hosted by the Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster (Feb. 10).
February 8-12: IDEA Campus Energy Conference (Austin, TX)
- This year, IDEA’s Campus Energy Conference is hosted by the University of Texas at Austin, Utilities and Energy Management. Campus professionals face many of the same challenges in planning and operating efficient, reliable campus utilities; this conference provides an atmosphere of open exchange and collaboration that is focused and unique, yet maintains an incredible scope.
February 14-17: The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Annual Meeting & Expo (New Orleans, LA)
- At the 2016 NRECA annual meeting, cooperative leaders from across the country will gather to network, conduct association business, and focus on the mission of providing cooperative members with affordable and reliable electricity.
February 18-19: North Carolina Clean Tech Summit (New Orleans, LA)
- Hosted by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Institute for the Environmentand Kenan-Flagler’s Center for Sustainable Enterprise, the 3rd annual summit will bring together professionals in business, policy, and academia from across the state and region for two days of discussion, problem-solving, and networking to foster leadership and growth in North Carolina’s clean tech industry.
February 19-20: Power and Energy Conference at Illinois (Champaign, IL)
- Sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign joint student chapter, PECI is an annual international conference to investigate future power and energy technologies presented by leading academic and industry experts in the power and energy field. The conference will promote academic and research collaboration among, but not limited to, IEEE Region 4 universities. It will also provide an opportunity for participating companies and students to interact.
February 22-24: Smart Energy Summit: Engaging the Consumer (Austin, TX)
- This conference will examine the expanding market for the smart home and the role of energy solutions within the Internet of Things.
February 29-March 2: ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit (Washington, DC)
- The ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit is an annual conference and technology showcase that brings together experts, thought leaders, and decision makers from different technical disciplines and professional communities to think about America’s energy challenges in new and innovative ways. Now in its seventh year, the summit offers a unique, three-day program aimed at moving transformational energy technologies out of the lab and into the market. Expert commentators include U.S. Secretary of Energy Dr. Ernest Moniz; U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy; U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski; and The World Bank Group President Dr. Jim Yong Kim.
