GM donates Chevy BrightDrop vans to American Red Cross

General Motors and American Red Cross announced a donation of 59 Chevy BrightDrop vans for emergency response operations across the United States. This donation will support the Community Adaptation Program. The Red Cross responds to more than 65,000 emergencies annually, mobilizing a response team on average every eight minutes, and GM believes this donation of electric vans will continue to help The Red Cross adapt and respond to emergency situations.

San Diego rolls out new electric patch trucks to tackle potholes

The City of San Diego added four new electric patch trucks to their fleet, capable of hauling enough asphalt to patch 50-70 potholes a day. The trucks come outfitted with state-of-the-art tools and safety features, aiming to keep drivers safe and further reduce the number of fill requests across the city — all while creating zero emissions from fuel.

Janus Electric secures U.S. pilot deal for EV trucks

Manufacturer Janus Electric secured their first deployment in the North American market through a pilot with Ability Trimodal Transportation Services. Janus Electric will supply two class 8 battery-swapping trucks to the transportation services company in Southern California. This will be one of the first pilot programs for battery swapping in the drayage industry in North America.

Now is a critical time for fleets to invest in medium- and heavy-duty electric trucks. These vehicles improve public health and help combat the climate crisis by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution. Unlike traditional diesel-powered trucks, electric trucks produce no tailpipe emissions, which significantly cuts down on health-harming pollution. Adoption represents a key step toward a more sustainable and resilient transportation industry.
