{"id":500,"date":"2010-04-01T17:56:31","date_gmt":"2010-04-01T22:56:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.edf.org\/nanotechnology\/?p=500"},"modified":"2024-02-12T11:00:54","modified_gmt":"2024-02-12T16:00:54","slug":"congrats-to-the-coalition-for-chemical-safety-on-its-silver-medal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.edf.org\/health\/2010\/04\/01\/congrats-to-the-coalition-for-chemical-safety-on-its-silver-medal\/","title":{"rendered":"Congrats to the Coalition for Chemical Safety on its silver medal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Richard Denison, Ph.D., is a Senior Scientist.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Congratulations are in order for a prize awarded today to the Coalition for Chemical Safety (CCS), about which I have <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.edf.org\/nanotechnology\/tag\/front-group\/?category_name\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blogged frequently <\/a>over the last several months.\u00a0 As reported today on the front page of the <em>Huffington Post<\/em>, CCS received second place in the coveted &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/the-yes-men\/the-best-pranks-of-2010_b_521594.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Best Pranks of 2010<\/a>&#8221; contest.\u00a0 Quite an honor for such a new kid on the block.<\/p>\n<p>The contest was judged by those intrepid faux captains of industry, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/the-yes-men\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yes Men<\/a>, who know a good PR ruse when they see one.\u00a0 And while this contest was an April Fool&#8217;s Day special, the subterfuge continues daily at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coalitionforchemsafety.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CCS&#8217; website<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Richard Denison, Ph.D., is a Senior Scientist.
