HelloFresh added 70 Rivian electric vans, Benore Logistics integrated 14 Hyundai hydrogen trucks, and the city of Roseville purchased 12 electric transit vans, showcasing strong momentum for medium- and heavy-duty electric and hydrogen vehicle adoption across the U.S.<\/li>\n<li>Transit agencies across the U.S. continue to introduce zero-emission solutions to their operations, including a mix of electric and hydrogen fueled buses and vans being deployed in South Carolina and California in April.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicles are hitting the road in 2025, and we\u2019ve collected last month\u2019s most exciting news. After another <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.edf.org\/energyexchange\/2024\/11\/19\/2024-was-another-record-year-for-electric-truck-deployments-proving-that-the-shift-to-zero-emission-is-not-slowing-down\/\">record year<\/a> of zero-emission truck deployments in 2024, this year promises more big announcements. The 70 all-electric commercial vans represent nearly one quarter of HelloFresh\u2019s fleet, which has already helped the company save an estimated 20,000 gallons of gasoline, according to a blog post the company posted Wednesday. HelloFresh said the shift to electric has reduced its CO<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> emissions output by 200 tons.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Benore Logistics adds 14 hydrogen Hyundai trucks to its fleet<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHyundai Motor Company cracked into the U.S. commercial truck market late last year with 3PL Glovis America&#8217;s deployment of 21 XCIENT heavy-duty hydrogen fuel-cell electric trucks at the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America. The third-largest carmaker in the world by production continues to put its stamp on the States, as 14 of those Hyundai XCIENT hydrogen fuel cell trucks were <a href=\"https:\/\/fuelcellsworks.com\/2025\/04\/08\/fuel-cells\/benore-logistics-adding-14-hydrogen-hyundai-trucks-to-fleet\">added<\/a> to the Benore Logistic Systems fleet. Benore&#8217;s partnership with Hyundai was established through its relationship with Glovis in Georgia and led to the successful start of business with Glovis EV America in Savannah. The trucks will be implemented onto dedicated routes in the Savannah area to service HMGMA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>California city buys 12 new electric vans for Roseville Transit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe city of Roseville <a href=\"https:\/\/goldcountrymedia.com\/news\/325000\/city-buys-12-new-electric-vans-for-roseville-transit\/\">is spending<\/a> more than $2.4 million in federal funds for 12 new electric transit vans. City officials agreed last year to buy the Ford 350 E-Transit vans. The Roseville City Council approved an amendment to the deal last week for extra options included. Eight electric vans will replace Roseville Transit&#8217;s current diesel-powered microbuses, which are past their useful lives, said Zachary Presley, Roseville transportation planner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>The South Carolina transit agency deploys two battery-electric and two hydrogen fuel cell buses<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority (The COMET) <a href=\"https:\/\/fuelcellsworks.com\/2025\/04\/23\/fuel-cells\/the-comet-deploys-two-battery-electric-and-two-hydrogen-fuel-cell-buses\">deployed<\/a> its new zero-emission buses into passenger service. Funded by a $2.9 million grant awarded by the Federal Transit Administration in 2021, the project brings two battery-electric and two hydrogen fuel cell buses to The COMET\u2019s fleet. The new vehicles are now in pilot service and will be fully integrated into daily routes starting in May 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Check back here next month to see a collection of the most exciting zero-emission vehicle announcements from May.
