The completion of the ICP credentialing system marks a crucial step forward for ICP and the standardization of the commercial and multifamily energy efficiency industry.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Credentialed, third-party reviewers now open for business<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"padding: 15px; width: 280px; text-align: left;\">\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: black; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; font-size: 11pt;\">The ICP credentialing system consists of the following credentials:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Software Provider Credential, <\/strong>which is given to software providers who are able to document energy efficiency projects according to ICP standards;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Project Developer Credential,<\/strong>\u00a0which is given to those developers who are able to properly deploy the ICP protocols when undertaking an energy efficiency retrofit; and<\/li>\n<li><strong>Quality Assurance Credential, <\/strong>which\u00a0is given to companies that have the training and experience to provide independent review of ICP projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>We are pleased to announce ten highly qualified firms\u00a0have qualified for the Quality Assurance Credential: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arup.com\/\">ARUP<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bolderee.com\/\">Bolder Energy Engineers<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.celticenergy.com\/\">Celtic Energy<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/ebsconsultants.com\/\">Environmental Building Strategies<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&amp;ion=1&amp;espv=2&amp;ie=UTF-8#q=performance%20systems%20development\">Performance Systems Development<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sbwconsulting.com\/\">SBW Consulting<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/scienergy.com\/\">SCIenergy<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/srmnetwork.com\/\">Sustainable Real Estate Solutions<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trcsolutions.com\/Pages\/default.aspx\">TRC Energy Services<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ibts.org\/\">Institute for Building Technology and Safety<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>These firms are now authorized to conduct third-party review for projects that were originated by Credentialed Project Developers. If these projects comply with ICP protocols, the Quality Assurance Provider can certify them as an Investor Ready Energy Efficiency<sup>TM<\/sup> (IREE) project, which indicates the project has undergone a standardized and independent technical review process. The IREE logo also assures building owners and investors of all types that the underlying engineering fundamentals of a project are sound and that predicted returns have been calculated correctly.<\/p>\n<p>For building owners, this translates to confidence that projects will deliver projected savings. For investors, standardized projects and documentation enable efficient due diligence, faster underwriting, and more reliable investment returns.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Creating a true energy efficiency marketplace<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eeperformance.org\/roadmap-to-iree.html\">ICP system<\/a> and provider network now in place, ICP looks forward to an ever increasing deal flow of Investor Ready Energy Efficiency<sup>TM<\/sup> projects in the marketplace. This standardization of projects opens up a pathway for the aggregation of energy efficiency projects for institutional investors and <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.edf.org\/energyexchange\/2014\/06\/05\/clean-energy-finance-101\/#secondary-market\">secondary markets<\/a>, where assets can be purchased from somebody other than the initial issuer of the asset.<\/p>\n<p>ICP\u2019s goal is to accelerate the development of a global energy efficiency market by standardizing how retrofit projects are developed and energy savings are calculated.
