Join I Am The Ocean today.\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a>Last week, National Geographic launched the campaign &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/ocean.nationalgeographic.com\/ocean\/iamtheocean\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>I Am The Ocean<\/strong><\/a>&#8220;, also referred to as Mission Blue. This effort in partnership with\u00a0several environmental organizations, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/ocean.nationalgeographic.com\/ocean\/iamtheocean\/environmental-defense-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\">including EDF<\/a><\/strong>, sends out a global call to action to raise public awareness, start conversations, and inspire people to help protect the ocean.<\/p>\n<p>One billion people worldwide depend on fish and shellfish for their protein.\u00a0The ocean is key to sustaining life on the planet &#8212; from the air we breathe to the water we drink, so it is critical for us to protect it.<\/p>\n<p>Through this action-oriented marine conservation initiative, <a href=\"http:\/\/ocean.nationalgeographic.com\/ocean\/iamtheocean\/take-action\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>you can <\/strong><strong>participate<\/strong><\/a> by making the right seafood choices, volunteering for costal clean-up, and learning about <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/ocean.nationalgeographic.com\/ocean\/take-action\/10-things-you-can-do-to-save-the-ocean\/\" target=\"_blank\">10 other things you can do to save the ocean<\/a><\/strong>. In addition, you can even purchase a bottle of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/ocean.nationalgeographic.com\/ocean\/iamtheocean\/iron-horse-wine\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;I Am the Ocean&#8221; wine<\/a><\/strong> and $4 will be donated to promote marine protected areas and reduce overfishing.
