Check out some of the articles about the politics behind their decision:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kevin Grandia on the <em>Huffington Post<\/em>: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/kevin-grandia\/duke-energy-quits-coal-lo_b_275225.html\">Duke Energy Quits Controversial Coal Lobby Front Group<\/a>&#8220;<\/li>\n<li><em>National Journal<\/em>: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationaljournal.com\/njonline\/no_20090825_2766.php\">Shifting Alliances Define Energy Debate<\/a>&#8220;<\/li>\n<li>Think Progress: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/wonkroom.thinkprogress.org\/2009\/09\/02\/duke-quits-accce\/\">Duke Energy Quits Scandal-Ridden American Coalition For Clean Coal Electricity<\/a>&#8220;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Duke has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/stories\/0509\/22336.html \">already severed ties<\/a> with another of its former coalitions &#8212; the National Association of Manufacturers.<\/p>\n<p>Duke is a member of <a href=\"http:\/\/us-cap.org\/\">USCAP<\/a>, which is fighting for passage of clean energy legislation and a cap on carbon pollution.
