John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). Some of our favorite rebuttals:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>EDF&#8217;s own Truth Squad gives a brief sketch of <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.edf.org\/truthsquad\/2009\/04\/01\/pants-on-fire-nrcc-gets-it-all-wrong\/\">the number and why it was wrong<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The Daily Green explains <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygreen.com\/environmental-news\/community-news\/light-switch-tax-47040202\">how Boehner misinterpreted the number<\/a>, including a handy chart.<\/li>\n<li>Grist has <a href=\"http:\/\/beta.grist.org\/article\/2009-04-01-republicans-carbon-lie\/\">great quotes from the study&#8217;s author<\/a>, an MIT professor, commenting on the number Boehner used (via PolitiFact). The best: &#8220;It\u2019s wrong in so many ways it\u2019s hard to begin.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>The <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em> included the latest press release from Republican leadership, who are <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/environmentalcapital\/2009\/04\/02\/mit-to-republicans-lay-off-the-scaremongering-on-climate-costs\/\">not backing down<\/a> in the face of simple math.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And a shout-out to <a href=\"http:\/\/one-blue-marble.com\/blog\/?p=348\">One Blue Marble<\/a>, spotlighting what EDF&#8217;s Fred Krupp says about the costs of climate action, based on Department of Energy data:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The impact on household utility bills will be about a dime a day, and that dime will be the hardest working dime in America.
