For example, see <a href=\"http:\/\/dotearth.blogs.nytimes.com\/2008\/07\/17\/the-annotated-gore-climate-speech\/\">Dot Earth<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecogeek.org\/content\/view\/1891\/\">EcoGeek<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/firedoglake.com\/2008\/07\/18\/gores-energy-challenge-to-america\/\">FireDogLake<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/gristmill.grist.org\/story\/2008\/7\/17\/175641\/206\">Gristmill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever you think of Gore&#8217;s 10-year challenge, one thing is for sure &#8211; Al Gore knows how to draw attention to the world&#8217;s most serious crisis. His leadership, which continues to be invaluable, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.edf.org\/climate411\/2007\/10\/12\/nobel_prize_2007\/\">won him the Nobel Peace Prize<\/a> along with the IPCC.<\/p>\n<p>And he&#8217;s definitely right about this: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We&#8217;re borrowing money from China to buy oil from the Persian Gulf to burn it in ways that destroy the planet. Every bit of that&#8217;s got to change.<br \/>\n&#8230;<br \/>\n[O]ne thing has become abundantly clear: when you connect the dots, it turns out that the real solutions to the climate crisis are the very same measures needed to renew our economy and escape the trap of ever-rising energy prices.
