Rand Paul (R-KY) will take his \u201cBad Neighbor\u201d bill to the Senate floor tomorrow morning.<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Paul\u2019s bill (S.J. Res. 27) would undo the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule \u2013 also known as the \u201cGood Neighbor\u201d rule.<\/p>\n<p>The Cross-State Air Pollution Rule (CSPAR) would protect downwind states from getting their neighbors\u2019 air pollution dumped on them. It could save up to 34,000 lives a year \u2013 if it\u2019s not stopped by Sen. Paul\u2019s bill.<\/p>\n<p>EDF President <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edf.org\/news\/sen-rand-paul%E2%80%99s-attempt-derail-cross-state-air-pollution-rule\">Fred Krupp said this<\/a> about Sen. Paul\u2019s decision to push his anti-clean-air measure in the Senate:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Senator Paul\u2019s attempt to block the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule takes anti-government ideology to an extreme.\u00a0 His bill would stop a long-overdue rule to protect American families from smokestack pollution that drifts across state lines &#8212; and causes thousands of premature deaths each year.\u00a0 If polluters are allowed to continue dumping their pollution in neighboring states, we will all be in serious trouble.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Of course, EDF is not the only group that\u2019s opposed to Sen. Paul\u2019s measure.
