The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edf.org\/pressrelease.cfm?ContentID=11449\">feedback so far from the environmental community<\/a> has been overwhelmingly positive.<\/p>\n<p>On the <em>New York Times Green<\/em> blog, there is a great <a title=\"http:\/\/green.blogs.nytimes.com\/2010\/11\/10\/e-p-a-issues-guidance-on-new-emissions-rules\/\" href=\"http:\/\/green.blogs.nytimes.com\/2010\/11\/10\/e-p-a-issues-guidance-on-new-emissions-rules\/\">article about the\u00a0guidance<\/a> and initial reactions from state and local governments, environmental and industry groups.\u00a0Mark MacLeod, director of special projects at Environmental Defense Fund, had this to say about\u00a0the EPA guidance documents:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cEnergy efficiency is one of the best ways to reduce pollution and save money, particularly in the manufacturing sector&#8230;Today\u2019s guidance will prepare companies for the permitting process and help them find ways to cut pollution while saving money for themselves and their customers.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Coming next on Climate411\u2026what the guidance means for bioenergy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday E.P.A. issued guidance documents for the greenhouse gas\u00a0permitting which will begin for the largest new or modified emissions sources in January.
