One EPA official told CNN that<strong> a sense of &#8216;a collective &#8220;Oh sh**&#8221; came out of EPA HQ&#8217;<\/strong> when Pruitt admitted he knew of the raises.<\/p>\n<p>Aides for weeks knew that Pruitt had lied in his Fox News interview, but were stunned that he contradicted himself so publicly on Thursday.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/johnrobertsFox\/status\/989520682395594754\">Added John Roberts from Fox News<\/a>: <strong>\u201cThis may be the end of the line.\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Says it not his fault: <\/strong>\n<p>Asked about multiple accusations of ethical problems, Pruitt shifted blame to everyone else: Milan Hupp, Ryan Jackson, Kell Kelly, and anyone else carrying out his orders, and at one point, \u201cthe process.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dodges the Questions: <\/strong>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Many big questions were left unanswered, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>$43,000 Phone Booth:<\/strong> Pruitt insisted that he <a href=\"https:\/\/protect-us.mimecast.com\/s\/IrMACXDMlGFXXw0wTQgpyX?domain=washingtonpost.com\">asked for a \u201csecure line\u201d<\/a> because of a single telephone call. What was so important about that incident? And Pruitt went on to admit that such calls are \u201crare\u201d\u2014if so, why can\u2019t he go to one of EPA\u2019s two other secure phones, as his predecessors did?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Illegal Use of Government staff: <\/strong>Pruitt said that he was \u201cnot aware\u201d of Millan Hupp <a href=\"https:\/\/protect-us.mimecast.com\/s\/IJOUCYEMmJsLLrOrsQg-kM?domain=documentcloud.org\">spending government time looking for his apartment<\/a>. Unanswered: Did he ask Millan Hupp\u2014or anyone else on his staff \u2014 to look for an apartment for him?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Demoting Staff: <\/strong>Did Pruitt tell his chief of staff<a href=\"https:\/\/protect-us.mimecast.com\/s\/IJOUCYEMmJsLLrOrsQg-kM?domain=documentcloud.org\"> not to come to travel planning meetings<\/a> after he raised concerns about Pruitt\u2019s travel?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Kell Kelly:<\/strong> Did Pruitt ever inquire why Kell Kelly was <a href=\"Annotated%20Pruitt%20E%20and%20C%20Testimony.bb.docx\">banned for life<\/a> from banking by the FDIC when he hired him?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Condo: <\/strong>On the condo lease, why was Stephen Hart\u2019s name originally typed in as \u201clandlord,\u201d but then <a href=\"https:\/\/protect-us.mimecast.com\/s\/swMaCZ6WnKc55J2JSRMPwM?domain=nbcnews.com\">scratched out and the name of his wife scribbled in<\/a>?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Private Jet: <\/strong>Was it Pruitt who sought to have the EPA pay <a href=\"https:\/\/protect-us.mimecast.com\/s\/IJOUCYEMmJsLLrOrsQg-kM?domain=documentcloud.org\">$100,000 per month to rent a private jet<\/a>, as Trump campaign staffer and EPA employee Kevin Chmielewski claims?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Morocco Trip: <\/strong>Before traveling to Morocco, why was Pruitt\u2019s only briefing before the trip conducted by <a href=\"https:\/\/protect-us.mimecast.com\/s\/A70wC1w9NocMMV5Vf4HHDb?domain=thehill.com\">political staff, not career staff<\/a> in the agency\u2019s international affairs office, which typically coordinates foreign trips?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Oklahoma Travel: <\/strong>As Oklahoma Attorney General, in January 2016 Pruitt traveled to Washington, D.C., costing taxpayers more than $1,000 to meet with the Federalist Society and Club for Growth. <a href=\"https:\/\/protect-us.mimecast.com\/s\/GthVC2k9NpsppMOMfxGwd3?domain=nytimes.com\">Did Pruitt reimburse taxpayers? <\/a>Did he use taxpayer money for political or personal trips?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enforcement:<\/strong> Why did Pruitt try to end EPA funding for Justice Department Superfund enforcement efforts, and cut EPA enforcement against criminal polluters?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Super-polluting trucks: <\/strong>EPA proposed a loophole for super-polluting glider trucks, citing an industry-funded study now being investigated for research misconduct.
