First, why does Environmental Defense correctly suggest Solar Panels and Wind Turbine Reduce Greenhouse Gases but leave Coal out as the key Emission source and polluter?

ED’s recent E Bay promo-quote - "If you support the development of a wind turbine or solar photovoltaic panel which would not have otherwise been installed, replacing the use of diesel, gas, kerosene or oil, this will reduce the CO2 emissions that would have been released by those fossil fuels." WHAT? Does ED think Pres. Bush’s “Clean Coal” is an answer?

Second, why is the entire Environmental Community silent as ALL Presidential Candidates are Silent on what they would do if Elected to PUSH Solar, Wind, Wave and Biomass Legislation!!

Could it be nearly all (but one) are taking support from the Carbon Based Energy Interests NOW to get elected and expect us to believe they will push for Global Warming Action later?

The two that I recommend (that I find unbelievable they did not make this list) are:

"Don Coyote" -by Dayton O. Hyde. An autobiographical account of a rancher, whose relationship with a coyote changes his perspective and motivations in life.

"Never Cry Wolf" - by Farley Mowat. An autobiographical account of a year long, "canis lupis" study in the 1960's for the Canadian government..

Both still apply to today's concerns.

Steve,

I was talking with someone the other day who just moved to Charlotte, NC from a small town in Virginia. We started discussing global warming and smog checks for all vehicles. He said in his town they don't have that requirement, but in Richmond, they do.

What is being done to get every state ENTIRELY compliant with this action. I'm sure Virginia isn't the only state that doesn't mandate smog certificates for their vehicles. Every governor should be made to comply, and held responsible, with this law statewide, not just regionally.

How can the United States sound the horn about global warming and what needs to be done if we are speaking from both sides of our mouths? What an embarrassment it is if we ignore the very simple measures to eliminate greenhouse gasses with a simple task as this. Every step we take will help, but ignorance should not be tolerated.

Thank you for your work.
