The Energy Bill of 2007 mandates the production of 36 billion gallons of alternative fuels by 2022. What does that mean for the environment? Will food costs skyrocket? And how about our greenhouse gases? As Environmental Defense presses for effective national climate legislation, how will the politics of biofuels impact the legislative battle?

I burn a 50/50 blend of gas and ethanol in my 2003 P.T. Cruiser. This reduces my carbon emissions by 43%. This is not a factory built flex fuel car, but running it with this blend hasn't harmed the engine one bit. Please have someone on the staff read Alcohol Can Be A Gas by David Blume. Burning this blend is just one of the many suggestions he has to not only have an immeadeate possitive impact on global warming, but to also stop our dependance on middle east oil, and create new jobs and a new economy.
