Wegmans Food Markets, one of the country’s most innovative food retailers, and Environmental Defense, a leading national environmental advocacy organization, has unveiled a first-of-its-kind purchasing policy for farmed shrimp.
The policy, which includes comprehensive and rigorous health and environmental standards, enables retailers and producers to address health and environmental concerns in a measurable and significant way. The policy will set a new bar for the seafood industry and U.S. retailers.

- Gwen Ruta, Director of Corporate Partnerships, Environmental Defense
