Chemicals & Nanomaterials

Our experts' views on chemical and nano news

Our blog is expanding!

Richard Denison, Ph.D., is a Senior Scientist.

You may have noticed some subtle changes to the look of this page.  That's because EDF has decided to expand the focus of this blog to include the policy, legislative, regulatory and scientific issues surrounding the health and environmental impacts of chemicals, as well as nanomaterials.

Of course, nanomaterials are chemicals too!  And many of the issues we've raised on this blog are microcosms (or should I say nanocosms?) of broader concerns associated with U.S. and international policies intended to ensure the safety of chemicals more generally.

But with discussion and debate intensifying over the direction our chemicals policies should take – most notably in the context of reforming the never-amended (well-aged?) Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976 (TSCA) – we thought the time was ripe for us to start using our blog to provide our two cents worth on those issues as well.

So stay tuned!

Congrats Richard!

Well done. This blog will be a useful source of information and inspiration to us.

We will do what we can to spread the word on it here in Europe.

Good luck!
