Hi ! Congrats for an excellent job! But, we must ensure that effective monitoring will be continued & be maintained to avoid recurrence in the future and severe penalties will be imposed to the culprits.

Excellent work done. BUT Pl note the planet has other nations on it apart from the US.Each one has it's own problems and specific requirements.I for one am tired of working on the program and about to retre for want of public awareness hence support in my part of the world where the government, educational institutions, commercial and industrial houses strongly believe that Global Warming is a natural process!!Further:- "There is no need for small nature reserves or habitat rebuilding". "God will do it-it is HIS duty!!" My efforts in propagating endangered species of plants endemic to my area and the in-situ rehabilitation of the same has been criticised.
I give below a few points on which we should emphasise when dealing with INDIA which happens to be on planet Earth!!Are:-
1) Mother Earth needs a population policy/per nation.
2) HRD according to need of the nation
3) BAN on petrol driven motor car manufacture. Replacement with Mass Transportation systems.
4) Petroleum Mafia to pay for most of the damage done as they are the ones responsibe for this chaos.
5) Industrial waste disposal fumes/chemicals strictly controlled.
6)Special monetary help to make privately owned small nature conservation efforts, i.e. propagation of endangered species of plants and their in-situ rehabilitation by school/college children as well as all commercial/fianancial/industrial houses to rebuild lost habitats matching plants with the insect world supported by each.
7) Special monetary help to people working on aquatic life support systems/biological oxygen contents etc. It is a shame to drink water out of bottles when nature provids us with natural mineral water why should we pollute it?
8) Delaying marriages every alternate year in countires like India/China.
9) Religious heads to be made aware of this danger so that they donot adopt methods of population explosion.
10) Capital punishment for those indulging in corrupt practices in denying basic infrastructural efforts in rural areas and making personal fortunes out of public funds. Democracy to be redifined.
11) Sex education to be made compulsory all over the world. It is time we rise above our "bodies" and balance our desires to our population requirements. Media be controlled accordingly.
12) Urbanisation to be curbed and rural development be given priority in every country.
13) STEP=Sustainable Tourism eliminates poverty...and gives identity to every village in the world.
14) Volunteering to be promoted and made obligatory by every country in every field.
15) Organic farming to be promoted with full force.

I am so proud that we have worked together and made big steps forward in saving our planet. Hopefully we can achieve this together as I have noticed that people from different places are responding to you and us as a group. Happy Holidays to you and yours.

I belong to many environmental organizations and have become very frustrated by those organizations lack of understanding of how to present the problems of burning fossil fuels to the public. Since you can not definitively prove global warming, and I wonder how many people are more worried about being able to afford to feed themselves than drowning Polar Bears in the Arctic, I really think you should address the effects of acid rain on lakes, mercury in our water getting into the fish we eat that can cause birth defects as well as being neurotoxic, and the particulate matter that gets into the air that despite advances made in the medical treatment of asthma, deaths from asthma have not decreased over the years. These are things that people can relate to so why not get people's attention about this problem in a way they can understand and relate to?

<strong>Hi Shari,

Thank you for your support and your comments. EDF has played a very big role over decades in working on air pollution and human health issues. Here is the Health section of our website, which offers some details: http://www.edf.org/page.cfm?tagID=67.

Notably, we worked to implement a cap and trade solution to acid rain pollution, which you can read about here: http://www.edf.org/page.cfm?tagID=1085. This success story has formed the basis for the advocacy of a similar program to cut America's global warming pollution.

We've worked on many types and sources of air pollution, some of which you can read about here: http://www.edf.org/page.cfm?tagID=97.

It is true we have made our global warming fight our top priority over the last 5 years. That's because it's a huge threat and we feel it is critical we do everything we can to solve the crisis. As you are probably aware, a warmer planet will worsen hazardous air pollution and increase threats to human health, which we've documented here: http://www.edf.org/page.cfm?tagID=1590.

I hope some of this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Sam Parry

I am glad to be a part of such a great organization and I will always help in any way I can to help make the world a better place than what it is now. We are the voices and we have to make a stand some where and this is a great way to do so.
