Time for Global Warming Action
February 11, 2009 | Posted by Sam Parry in climate action report
With the House and Senate reaching agreement on a final stimulus bill, our focus shifts to passing global warming legislation.
Here is our new factsheet on the urgency of global warming action.
Here is our new factsheet on the four elements of a good bill.
Here is our new factsheet describing how cap and trade works.
And here is a list of some of the people who support cap and trade.
What do you think?

Never! I will always use CO2! Read the Facts! This is not real, People!! This a natural cycle!! So Stop this this!

Unlike the Europeans and Brits, we are actually spending a pittance on alternative energy sources. For instance they are building FAR MORE capacity in wind than nuclear. I often wonder why our country (USA) has problems seeing that there WILL be a future, and working towards making it a comfortable and prosperous one? For links to some European/Britain work being done NOW (they are in recession too) click or copy/paste this link (caution, salty language):

60 years ago, Armadillo's began showing up in extreem southwestern United States. A few years ago, they
began showing up many many miles north of the border
between USA and Mexico. The reason for this is Global
Warming.

Make filch the smoke of the industrial units and exhaust gases of cars in solutions of lime (training of CaCO3) is the best solution to get rid of the excess of carbon dioxide. Then to recycle the lime CaO, there is a decarbonation with funeral of CO2 in coats(layers) or subterranean waters

Cap and trade is crazy and does little to save our planet.
Your bill is too little to late. Scientists say we can't stop warming for 1000 years. We need to cap emissions now!Do more!

To me it dosnt matter if global warming is a natural occurance or if it is a cause from polluntion. The only thing that matters is polution is not good to us or the enviroment. And I think everyone should care about the future. Not only for our future but the generations to come. People wake up! We have caused damage. It is time to deal with it before we kill off every thing. What about our oceans and forrest…..stop being so dense. We should not be rapping the earth without giving something for her to grow on.

This world is going to end! I agree to keep it clean, but that doesn't mean getting rid of Fossil Fuels! America has turned it's back from God, and I think that could be why the natural disasters are happening. Read the Bible!

Taxing Carbon extraction and emisions is the only way to fund clean energy and deter polluting industries.
The federal government should declare that all cars sold in the United States should be Flex-Fuel or Hybrid vehicles and THEN offer them bailout money to re-tool their plants so they can produce these vehicles. The gov. could back this up by ordering the first round of Flex-Fuel/Hybrids to replace current vehicles.

Until you face up to the real facts about global warming, the crisis will keep getting worse.
First fact: Nothing proposed by any environmental group, "influential" environmental scientists and e"con"omists, or by IPCC and Kyoto Protocol proponents removes on balance one molecule of carbon dioxide from the 35%(probably close to 40% now as that 35% is from 5 years ago) overload of that gas already in the biosphere. Everything proposed is just slowing the expanding overload, but not well, based on last NOAA report.
Second fact: None of the above mentioned groups, etc. realizes that we have a major source of controllable emissions running wild in the way we presently handle the the massive ever-expanding messes of organic wastes and sewage. A pyrolysis system can be set up to convert about 50% of the biochemicals in the messes to inert charcoal(Remaking coal as it were) while expelling a gaseous distillate that can pass through a turbocharger before being collected and refined for a fuel or raw materials for organic chemicals industries. The pyrolysis process will also destroy all germs, toxics, and drugs greatly reducing the hazards of seepage and washouts at new dumps that will receive charcoal not the messes and have much lower fees for maintaining then. Sustainability claims mean little if we continue to let those messes expand to be overwhelming us with expanding pollution of water systems. By the way the Weather Channel is now having a brief info flash showing several big bulldozers working over an enormous dump site with a commentator asking what are we going to be doing about these messes.
A third point is why ED and other environmental groups say little about developing hydrogen, when 6 different reports over the last 20 months have been made for catalysts that split hydrogen from water using sunlight energy. In Berkeley, CA last week, I saw a county bus flashing big announcement that it was hydrogen-fuel cell powered. A few months ago Honda announced that some hydrogen fuel cell cars were being tested as rentals at several LA car rental sites.
But ED, NRDC, UCS and others have been silent in calling for the Federal Govt. to take up supporting research on hydrogen; instead they waste time on hyping programs that will just slow, hopefully, GHG emissions. If ED, NRDC, UCS and others would call for shifting of all subsidies etc. being given to biofuels and oil entitlements to instead develop hydrogen and the pyrolysis process, they would be getting us on the right track to clean energy and reducing some of the overload of carbon dioxide in the biosphere. Weatherdude, religion is not the only way to solve this. We need to do whatever we can to save the earth, to stop the world from ending. Sure, religion might be one way. But another way, a more guaranteed way, is to stop using fossil fuels, to go back to the basics and stop ruining this earth, to follow the advice of great environmental groups such as this one. If we can do this, then the world wont end.
And there is a ridiculous amount of SCIENTIFIC PROOF that greenhouse gases and fossil fuels are causing global warming. Yes, the earth does go through cycles, but THIS CYCLE IS WORSE THAN ALL THE OTHERS, and temperatures KEEP RISING. at the point where our FUTURE is at stake, we should be using whatever methods we have to save this earth, which means not only religion but also environmentalist methods.

Elizabeth and ED staff: Unfortunately a new religion is being fostered by ED and many other environmental groups that the miracle of overcoming the climate crisis will occur if the emitting of GHGs from power plants and vehicles can be cut by some large percentage. If we already have an overload of GHGs, mainly carbon dioxide, in the biosphere, we will only get some relief by some way that actually removes some of that gas from the biosphere. I have outlined the pyrolysis process mentioned above in e-mails to many ED staff people, but they seem to be mesmerized by their cants on emissions. The mantra of just cutting those emissions will not stop Mother Nature's infernal combustion machine that is about to undergo ignition to be emitting carbon dioxide and METHANE from the biodegrading of the yedoma(trapped organic matter) being exposed now in melting permafrost in Siberia. This melting and exposing of yedoma was reported in Science and in news articles over 2 years ago. Dr. J. Singmaster

We cannot stop the world from ending! The Bible says one day this world will end! Jesus is coming back someday soon!! We can't stop it from happening! We are nothing! We are like ants compared to God! God is in CONTROL!
Job 26:10
He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters
for a boundary between light and darkness.
Revelation 10:5-7
Then the angel I had seen standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven. 6And he swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it, and said, "There will be no more delay! 7But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets."
