If we can pipe oil from Alaska to the contiguous 48, why can't we pipe water into the deserts of Arizona, Nevada, etc., to create arable land for corn, or better yet sugar cane, for ethanol? We'd solve many environment and energy issues that way.

I feel that the oil companies are on some levels extorting Americans by raising prices until we give in to their "request" to drill in particular locations. Even some late night talk show hosts seem to be provoking viewer hostility towards environmentalists.

These first two comments are certainly welcome in our discussion, but I'd like to ask that folks use this space to ask our Chief Health Scientist, Dr. John Balbus, quesions more focused on the human health implications of global warming, which is Dr. John's area of expertise.

Could you please provide direct, irrefutable evidence that human-generated CO2 is 1) a "pollutant", and 2) a cause of "global warming" that we may or may not be currently experiencing? With respect to number 2, please provide evidence of anthropogenic global warming especially in the light of the fact that the earth has experienced cyclical "global warming" of at least 5 superimposed orders over the past 570 million years. Also, please explain the fact that past intervals of warming preceed significant rises in CO2 levels. Thank you.

My instincts tell me that the "new" energy efficient light bulbs that last 10 years and have Mercury in them that EVERYONE tells us we have to switch to, to become GREEN are a bad idea because of the future improper disposal by 99% of the public. Is it just a fantatasic marketing plan by the company that makes them or do the benefits really out weight the future environmental damage (mercury in water/food).

Do you think our present health care system is sustainable enough to deliver care to all the people of the world, if we could extend it enough? Or should we be thinking and working on building a more sustainable type of health care system, like the "barefoot doctors" in China? Could we be working with indigenous healing systems, adding more public health and first aid awareness and training? Could we be using energy approaches (like Homeopathy, Shiatsu and Jin Shin Jyutsu) instead of chemical approaches? Should we be using locally grown herbs instead of manufactured pharmaceuticals?

I have invented a new, low cost way to move water. It can be used to fight wildfires and to bring water to villages that lose their water supply because of climate change.

Please see my website safersmallcars.com

The website also shows a way to make small cars safer in collisions. It will encourage Americans to consider a small car for their next purchase.

Sam Parry: I read a few of the blog entries at Climate 411, and it amounts to nothing but EDF "scientists" chasing their tails. Please have Mr. Wang provide evidence that human generated CO2 is directly affecting arctic ice cover. If this is not possible, please provide a timeline concerning when "scientific" opinions can become fact. Have there been periods in the past where there was in fact no arctic ice cover? There is direct evidence of extensive continental glaciation during the Permian Period (approximately 250 million years ago). The glaciers formed, and then they melted. Please explain.

Sam,
Charles Ross asked good questions.
Don't they deserve a real answer?
Or, are you admitting that you are unable to give straight answers because there is no relationship between man-made CO2 and temperature? That truth upsets the whole man-made climate change myth edf needs to perpetuate in order to exist.

Leigha-
You are raising good questions about the trade-offs of the mercury content of CFLs. I personally feel that right now, given our options and the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the benefits of reducing electricity use, especially in the US which uses a significant amount of mercury-containing coal for electricity, outweigh the risks of mercury release from landfills where CFLs may be improperly disposed. EDF is seeking to provide better opportunities for CFL recycling. I am also hopeful that LEDs or another technology will provide a mercury free, low-carbon source of lighting in the very near future.

Lisa- you're asking an interesting question. Modern western medicine is currently extremely expensive and energy intensive, and so it is not likely to be expandable to all the people in the world. Of course, most focus for the poorest countries in the world is assuring the basics of health, including clean water and air and adequate supplies of nutritious food, and we are not doing as well as we should at that level.

Early in my medical training I studied accupuncture and oriental medicine and considered incorporating some of those techniques in my practice. I believe that both traditions have a lot to offer for different kinds of medical problems for people in the US. But as a public health professional, I believe there is far more we can be doing in terms of prevention, promoting better nutrition and physical activity, so that we start reducing the need for more and more medical care. The recent news about declining life expectancy in parts of this country was especially sobering.

JJ- I haven't seen anything on more virulent microbes frozen in the permafrost, but I do think that the widespread and accelerating melting of the permafrost and warming in Alaska and Canada will have health repercussions.

We know that pine beetles that used to be controlled by cold winter temperatures are now on a rampage destroying forests and creating another positive feedback cycle that increases CO2 emissions. As the ecosystem changes in these areas, there is definitely a possibility that some microbe, insect or other disease causing agent will find the new climate more hospitable and start causing disease. We have not seen these kinds of changes in the modern era, so I do think we can anticipate surprises from the responses of other species.

Also, I saw an article that described how the warmer temperatures have created problems for indigienous communities and their waste handling. Warmer temperatures will increase the odds of water and food borne infections, all else being equal.

Is there a good rebuttal specifically available for this book, or at least for the main tenets?

How much does global warming help mosquito borne diseases?
There is a surge of "dengue", a mosquito borne disease,
in just about all of Brazil right now.
Does global warming contribute to this increase.
Will similar effects be felt in USA with increases in the
"Nile" virus mosquito borne disease occurrences, i.e.,
due to global warming?

Alann-
The interactions between climate change and mosquito borne diseases are complicated and still hotly debated. Most scientists think that in some places climate change will help the disease, in others it will help the humans.

Some things are pretty clear.

Globalization and transportation are moving the mosquitos and infected people all around the planet.

Factors that create more mosquitos and speed the maturation of viruses within them can increase the chances of an imported case taking hold.

I recently blogged (http://blogs.edf.org/climate411/2007/12/17/chikungunya_fever/) on how a Chikungunya fever outbreak in the Indian Ocean region got imported in Italy and led to an outbreak in Italy. Was this because of climate change? Well, we can't blame climate change for people going to India and traveling back infected. I'm not sure if climate factors were contributing to the ferocity of the outbreak in the Indian Ocean. But it is more plausible, though still not ironclad, that unusual conditions that are favorable for the aedes mosquitos and for quicker maturation of the virus could help such an outbreak take hold in Italy, or the US. Warmer winters may be especially favorable to mosquitoes in more temperate areas.

On the other hand, some projections suggest that mosquito-spread conditions could become less prevalent in places like the Southeast United States with temperatures becoming too HOT for ideal mosquito survival. But you can imagine if it's too hot for the mosquitos to survive, it's not too good for the humans, either.

studies of magnetics show magnetics and gamma radiation will increase with this cycle of the sun, so how long will this last they say no one has a clue?

Nova had a program concerning Solar Dimming. The scientist have confirmed that the Solar Dimming does exist and seems to be protecting us from the Global Warming. The model of rate of CO2 amounts mentioned in the environment are probably not accurate. This conclusion was mentioned because of ice shelf of the Arctic and Greenland are melting faster than were anticipated. What are your thoughts about Solar Dimming pollution? The scientist are giving humanity 10 years to make changes to the environment before all harm is irreversible. What do you think? How can we do this when the US government is not encouraging companies to find new clean energy? How do we continue on?

Hello My question is :
HOW DOES MAN'S FOOLISH CUTTING OF TREES; ESPECIALLY CONIFERS AFFECT GLOBAL WARMING; AND WHAT CAN BE DONE TO EXPLAIN TO PEOPLE HOW CUTTING TREES; EVEN JUST ONE; CONTRIBUTES TO GLOBAL WARMING? How does the diminishment of Trees worldwide affect the environment and our human health?

comment is:

How does the ice Age fit inot all of this? Was the Earth originlly hot or cold ? The Earth was originally hot.

Where did the Ice Age Originate? Wasn't the earth a molten metal until it was hit by a massive cold icy Commet ?

Didn't the Comet cool the earth to create The Ice Age ?
Isn't Global warming a nautral part of the solar system due to how close we are to the Sun?

DOESN'T THE EARTH HAVE A HIGH GLOBAL TEMPERATURE DUE TO SUN?

SO GLOBAL WARMING IS DUE TO THE HEAR OF THE USN; THE LOSS OF ATMOSPHERE DUE TO CHEMCIALS AND POLLUTION AND SPACE TRAVEL putting literal holes in our atmosphere.

SO ISN'T THE REAL QUESTION NOT HOW DO WE STOP GLOBAL WARMING?

HOW DO WE BEGIN GLOBAL COOLING?

ISN'T THE VERY NATURE OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM AND US BEING THE THIRD ROCK FROM THE SUN THE ACUTAL CAUSE OF GLOBAL WARMING?

So isn't it really up to The Creator to solve this problem as He did millions of years ago by sending a comet to cool?

Until people believe in global warming this will get worse.

Comment from Anne

Conclusion: It is the cutting and destruction of Trees worldwide which has the most impact on Globa Warming;

why?

Trees protect the Earth form the glaring rays of the Sun.

so the only real hope is a massive Tree planting program; which would involve planting trees near all water; the loss of Trees in our habitiat is the no. 1 cause of this problem.

Manuel-
There are many environmental factors that cause cancer. Some are physical, like radiation, some are biological like viruses, and some are chemical, like benzene.

Some of the best known carcinogens were discovered from cancers in workers who were exposed to them. These include soot and coal dust (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons), asbestos, benzene, and vinyl chloride.

Sunlight (ultraviolet radiation) causes skin cancer. There are some interactions between global warming and the hole in the stratosphere's ozone layer, which lets in excess ultraviolet radiation that could cause more skin cancers where the hole is biggest. This in fact has been the topic on which the greatest amount of money for the research on human health under the US's Global Change Research Program has been spent.

Hepatitis B and C viruses cause liver cancer. The links between global warming and viruses and other infectious causes of cancer are not well defined at this point.

The National Toxicology Program publishes a report on carcinogens periodically. The list of known carcinogens from the latest edition can be found at: http://ntp.niehs.nih.gov/ntp/roc/eleventh/known.pdf

This is a timely question! Influenza kills tens of thousands of people in the US every year. A year ago I would have said there's nothing much to say about a link between influenza and climate change, except that we knew most influenza deaths occured during the winter months.

But then last fall, an article published by Lowen et al in PLoS Pathogens showed that low temperatures and low relative humidity greatly enhance the transmission of influenza virus (in guinea pigs). This study compared about 40 degrees fahrenheit to 68 degrees and above, so it's not clear what difference a few degree change in the winter would make. More studies, and especially studies of human populations are needed to figure out whether this might be one of the small benefits of global warming.

And keep in mind that long-term increases in average temperature don't mean that strong cold spells can't occur. We've seen that this winter in the eastern United States. So it's not time to stop worrying about flu yet.

That is a very good question, but one that I don't know the answer to, and I suspect is very complex, depending on specific crops in specific regions.

Heat stress, changes in precipitation, and other weather and climate factors all affect plant growth and the availability of nutrients to the plants themselves. Changes in these weather and climate factors certainly have the potential to change the nutritional content of the plants. But exactly how, I don't know, and a quick search didn't provide any easy answers.

If we do little or nothing to curb these emissions doesn't that have a dual effect of increasing respiratory disease and global warming?

Joyce-
There are lots of linkages between the air pollution causing climate change, changing climate, and asthma and respiratory diseases.

First, many of the processes that lead to greenhouse gas emissions lead to increases in the kinds of pollution that also worsen asthma. So fossil fuel power plants and cars and trucks emit carbon dioxide and also fine particles and nitrogen oxides, among other pollutants. This means that if we can put in place policies to reduce fossil fuel combustion significantly, we are also likely to see reductions in the air pollution that causes suffering among people with asthma and other respiratory diseases.

Some of these pollutants, like nitrogen oxides, diesel and other types of black soot particulates, and ozone, do double disservice- they act as harmful and irritating air pollutants and also act as greenhouse gases.

Climate change is also anticipated to affect the concentrations of some types of air contaminants. Warmer temperatures and stagnant air masses favor the formation of ozone, so ozone pollution is expected to increase in many areas. The chemistry of fine particles is more complex, and changes are not as certain here. And then increases in CO2 and longer growing seasons are anticipated to increase levels of allergens from things like ragweed. So there is indeed a "double whammy" here, and failing to act to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is likely to be bad for our lungs specifically, in addition to the other effects we've talked about.

Comment from Anne

the word Infulenza originates from the word Seasons; this is because the Influenza travels during seasons which is either summer or winter.

The summer viruses of the far east travel across the trade winds of the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean and land in USA.

Climate change affects viruses because viruses need certain conditons to grow; such as mositure heat or cold.

So a hotter climate produces an excess of Flu Viruses.

Over population is the no one cause of Viruses world wide.

Anne's comment:

The Glare of the sun will cause eye weakness and headaches; and cataratchs due to the normal cloud covering of the earth has been depleted to such a degree the Sun Glares.

The way the eyes work is: they reflect light using a certain Nutrient called Riboflavin Vitamin B2.

What Riboflavin B2 does is: helps the eyes reflect Light.

Without adequate Riboflavin in the diet; the glare from the Sun causes headaches; eye weakness and cataratchs.

So one of the ways we can protect ourselves from the glare ane reflective light of the Sun is to increase Riboflavin Vitamin B2 in our diet and or take Riboflavin Vit. B2 supplements; either signly or in a B-Complex or mulit vit.

Riboflavin Vitamin B2 is found predominanely in Dairy products. also found in Almonds and Nutritional Yeasts.

So one way to prevent eye damage is to use RiboFlavin B2.

Riboflavin B2 is the least expensive Vitamin kownn on earth.

Yet Riboflavin acutally prevents Cararatchs and eye damage.

You can buy a bottle of 100 pills of Ribo for less than $5.

Wear sunglasses and hats and use sinc oxoide on your noses.

The fact is as you move people around the world you move the common health problems for one part of the globe to the other.

The invisible health or healing inside the human body which helps when you have health problems is of magnetic origin the same as the big bang or start of the universe, so if we have this basic need so doe's the earth.

trees are like your hair and water is another form of sweat on your skin (earth/dirt), religion and basic human need starts with no claiming anyone else's place or don't go some where uninvited as you may disrupt the eco system even in modern world (everything we do has a cost) we are no more better than a thousand years ago we just use things in a different way, intelligence is still the same but our greed is up and our basic practical self is down (we do not maintain ourselves but look for replacement parts)

Why do we import people to solve our problems when naturally they are never required?

are we just trying to make life to easy and not enjoying the challenge and fun of a challenge.
try looking at the world as a child and enjoy a life of diffence and learning. (less streesful, less cancer, less depression etc)

are you a hero or a week person is not the question but the same person in two different views.

elite educated cities means more problems of health and cancers by default!

strike a balance – global warming can be solved in a couple of years but the problem is we do not respect the practical person only the educated ( high intelengence doe's not mean the best person).

Barry

what we need is to resolve and sort out what is basically required by each person, then what left is just luxury or an added extra?

As you will see price rises and deals to force prices higher than ever just to feed fat rich people at the expense of normal life?
we need to debate practical need once and for all?

thank you barry

As the cloud cover depletes is replaced by somog and other chemicals; and as other natural phneonemon on earth are replaced by man made artifacts; we will have to devise ways to survive using other methods; such as dehydrated food and bottled water. As the energy companies continure to grow food for fuel; many farmers will suffer because of this.

there are only two answers to the Global Crisises of today;

1. Free birth control pills for every woman and free birth control for every man; including free "sterilizations to anyone who wants; Less people is the only answer

A vase can only hold a set amount of water; the earth can only hold s set amount of people; so Birth Control works.

B. SOLAR ENERGY is Man's only hope; but unforutnaley Man sees the Sun as his foe; instead of a valuable eneergy source; and I don't mean using the Sun to create electtriciy which is another one's of man's foolish ideas;

I MEAN USING THE SUN FOR HEAT FOR HOUSE AND FOR HOT WATER !

How to build a hot water supply on roof of a house or cabin:

Go to the Hardware store and buy a large coil of Black Rubber Hosing; diameter the size of the household plumbing.

Lay the black tubing out and place the tubing in parallel lines on the top of the house; covering most of the roof.

Hook up one end of the line to the cold water system; the other end to the shower and other plumbing fixtures.

Turn the cold water on to fill the hose on the roof with cold water in the early a.m.; seal off the other end.

On a Sunny day; the heat from the Sun will be absorbed by the Black Tubing and the water inside the tubes gets hot.

at the end of the day; simply unseal the end of the tube; hook to your hot water faucet and you have free hot water;

no taxes; no fees; just pure Hot Solar Water for your house.

This is the type of info the establishment keeps "hidden.

This is common sense; even a child knowns Sun heats water. A

Note: when putiing the plasitc tubing pipes on the roof; the plastic tubing covers the entire roof; prob. using about 1,000 feet of tubing for one roof; placed properly.

So the tubing covers almost the entire roof.

You can also heat hot water in wood stoves in a nimilar way; just place metal pipes in the wood stove's pot belly

and let the fire heat the water inside the pipes for kitchen

lets be honest Anne,

the global fatcs show for them selves that if we do not do something the earth will have no choose but to explode volcano's world wide and that will be the end of us, as to fix the upper layer of the atmosphere needs sulphate ,but that will then distroy the ozone layer keeping us alive.
check out Ted.com.

all environmental groups are as you say controlled by local governments etc so it is up to us to set a different way (global) time to remove the facts ffrom being hidden to openness.

I have a minus 40 tonnes per year of co2 and it is not hard to do as salt, chalk, and other basic alkalines counter the global effect the same as my ancient family did 8,000 years ago in Britain. chalk mountains layed out over the country helped them. so it is not a new deal but one they new about and we have forgotten.

water, chalk, lime, salt, all play there part in the cleaning industry, but the fact is you need tpo use local products to a local are or you will have a reversal effect and more global problems.

The other fact is when you dig up the earth you bring up the old problems for which people died from…………
we may be cleever but we still are just as stupid in our attitude to this planet.

birth control or death a good way to find out.

the earth can have metal rods placed in the soil or stones to produce heating for a house and if you use natural ore it is totally natural, flint is a way forward as is amber.

love the comments Anne.

I know that some other chemicals are pumped in to get the oil out but most of those chemicals have a much lower boiling point than the oil originally in the ground. Your thoughts please

1. Global warming is caused basically by an imbalance in the natural heating cooling systems of the earth which man has disrupted with his air; water; land pollution;grime.

Global Warming creates extreme weather pattersn on Earth.

2. Global warming also creates temperatures of extrem cold; just like when one has a fever; ond get hot then chills;

3. Overpopulation is the no. 1 cause of Global Warming.

I dispute the idea Viruses grow better under cooler conditons; acutally Viruses love warmth and mositure; this is why when Viruses travel across the Atlantic Ocean from the Far East druing their summer months; the virus survive.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT A VIRUS IS?

A VIRUS IS A NITPPET OF SOMEONE ELSE'S GENES !

That somehow becomes detached from some other living animals and lands in your nose

This is why the virus is so dangerous; our DNA and RNS system is set up to expell any foreign outside unkwown DNA.

So when you have climate change creating floods; and these floods spew sewer water around; these virues from the sewer water rise up and travel across the Atlantic Ocena in theri usmmer which is our winter.

so we get the flu druing our winter wheihc is theri summer.

So obvioulsy warmth and moisture plus dirty water make Flu.

The answeer to floods is: Don't build houses near Water !

To teach people how to build their houses out of stone; brick or build the houses on platforms above the floods.

but this idea of building houses near sea and rivers has to stop. How many times do i have to get burned before i realize putting my finger in a campfire causes a burn ?

How many Houses will be washed away before they begin to teach the people how to build thei houses on dry land ?

HOW TO BAKE SOLAR BREAD source The Essence Gospel of Peace

a. Take whole wheat kernel grains; or Rye; Barley etc.

b. Sprout the Grains by soaking in water; rinse; set to aprout in a glass jar in a dark cool spot; rinse daily.

c. When Wheat Sprouts are about 1/4 inch; rinse and dry.

d. Take a mortar and pestle (or blender) and crush the Sprouted Wheat Grains unitl mushy and forms a soft paste.

THIS IS THE SPROUTED WHEAT DOGUH FOR THE SOLAR BREAD

To the dough add; chopped nuts; dates; raisins; seeds etc.

HOW TO BUILD A SOLAR BAKING OVEN

a. The oven is about 1 foot high by 3 feet wide; build out of wood or find an old suitcase and take the top off;

BUY A SHEET OF GOOD PLEXIGLASS OR GLASS AS TOP FOR OVEN.

Put the wooden oven or old suitcase and put the plexiglass on top of the oven; the plexiglass overlaps the top of stove; it's basically a crate with a Plexiglasss cover…

PUT ALUMINUM FOIL ON THE BOOTOM OF THE OVNE; PLACE IN SUN.

Take your Whole Wheat sprouted Dough and form "cookies.
Put these cookies in the oven; put the plexiglass on the stove and bake the sprouted wheat cookies for 8 hours…

YOU COULD SAVE MANY PEOPLE'S LIVES WITH THIS SIMPLE OVEN. A

(and thanks for the Ted.com website; looks interesitng…A.

What I want to say to people in other lands and our own lands during floods ; earthquakes; cyclones is…

After the event; gather yoursleves togehter and look around; what do you see ?

You see trees standing with leaves on those trees; I say;

GATHER THOSE LEAVES AND MAKE TEA AND SOUPS; or eat the leaves raw; there are millions of speices of edible plants…nearly 90 % of all plants on this earth are edible.

don't sit around waiting for the gov. to help you ! MAKE TEA

example; Sasparilla Trees grow everywhere and the leaves from the tree make a surprisingly sweet and nutritous tea;
Barks from Trees can also be eaten or made into Teas; soups.

The poople should also be taught to look for berries/ seeds.

Dr. Balbus,

Have you read the book "Climate Confusion" by Dr. Roy Spencer? If not, many atmospheric scientists and meteorologists, such as Dr. Dr. Richard S. Lindzen
Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Atmospheric Sciences,
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, highly recommend reading it.

By the way Dr. Spencer is a principal research scientist for the University of Alabama in Huntsville and the U.S. Science Team Leader for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer (AMSR-E) on NASA’s Aqua satellite. In the past, he has served as senior scientist for climate studies at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Spencer is the recipient of NASA’s Medal for Exceptional Scientific Achievement and the American Meteorological Society’s Special Award for his satellite-based temperature monitoring work. He is the author of numerous scientific articles that have appeared in peer-reviewed journals. As such, he is certainly an "expert".

Thank you.

One final point on Dr. Spencer's book, "Climate Confusion": It refutes every point being published on this and all other "man-made global warming/ disaster" blog.

If you would like to learn about interesting things, such as the true, known science behind our planet's weather patterns and known causes, from a true expert, who is a meteorologist, rather than a physicist/ climate model builder with a political agenda, then pick up a copy of Dr. Spencer's book and read it. You'll definitely learn a lot of interesting science!

climate change v's fact it doe's not matter it is the approach to solve simple developement problems and there effects – used to be called city planning and it's effects.

every building has an effect so do people but the one question is never answered because it get's mixed up with rascism and that is importing people into another country, all science points to the fact that this effect will produce all the effects we have today?
plus more asians consume 300 times the veg oil as natural americans and europeans, but in hot areas it is ok (asia)why?
natural matterials in there original location is ok, but move them to another part of the world and you have a global effect. action and reaction?
so what we need to do is find the first step and change that part? then deal with effects as step two so why are we not?
local production of food only
restrictions world wide on the movement of people?
holidays are ok ? preminate movement is wrong for the climate?
hetchy hetchy will create more land and rain weather patents will reduce back to a better america so why have you not forced these issues of solving the land forest area inside america? help solve jobs for people and more money into local and area comunities and drive up american business and house price's will be stablized, one business drives another – rebuilding american peoples ecconomy and have check this out and it would have a clear effect in 6 months to 1 year of starting. so the longer you delay the more become poorer you decide?
tetonic plates can be reduced if we had more stress escapes?
earth quakes produce sulphate but it is natural required for the earth to fix the planet this needs to be highlighted as do all the earths natural defence's so why are they not?
please send to Ted.com and sort out away of explaining the linkage and the natural planet defence's as an action not words and maybe these questions can have a business effect
refence hetchy hetchy

Anne and Isaiah_53,
check out the early years of religion and you have simple but clear problems (we call it climate change)so it is not the words or science and in the religions holding back from change and you see a clear rich man poor man image or con used the all?
mohamid tried to change this so did soloman, jesus and most rulers who tried for simple fact over fiction or control of people, we used to call this slave selling but today we call it world business for the future?
I sit in my box and say my enermy is ………..,
the fact is you can not ram ideas down people's throats
just need to show the open arguement let people see as they have seen the effects worldwide?

Open ideas for the future?

start with nothing and watch what happens?

you will be surprized at the results

simple fact I gave my community the names of every group that effects my area and guess what each person does there own thing to make a better future?
don't need me any more good result they ask and answer there own questions no ever is thick or can not understand just need to see the whole thing and not a little bit of this and add some of that ?

it is rubbish to do so?
lets put do every idea we can of fixing global problems and see what can be done agree or dis agree!

barryworwood,

Regaring your comments addressed to Anne and Isaiah_53, I have no idea what you are talking about. Jesus was not a "ruler" who tried for "simple fact over fiction or control of people". If you're going to discuss matters of Bible scripture, first acquire some wisdom, knowledge and understanding of same.

I merely suggested reading the excellent book, "Climate Change" by Roy Spencer who happens to be a reknown meteorologist. His book explains as well as answers the concerns presented by the poor misinformed folks who express their misplaced concern for global warming.

There are soooooo many known factors in the Earth's climate, most of which are vastly misunderstood by the climate model builders, and therefore are unable to accurately measure. Additionally there are many unknown factors that we are completely unable to even consider.

Furthermore, the model builders are mostly physicist with little to no knowledge of meteorology and climatology.

It's all explained in Dr. Spencer's book. Go and read it. You'll thank yourself for doing so!

Anne, it's NOT the trees! It's the clouds, the winds, the oceanic currents, in a word, the weather, solar heat, and infrared heat loss, plus dozens of additional known and unknown factors. Trying to predict the future based on faulty models is ludacris.

The Arctic was just as warm during the 1940's as it is today. However we do not know whether the polar ice melted as it did last year. Why not? Because we did not have satelites to measure the arctic ice until the 1970's.

Our Earth's temperature systems are way too complex for us to understand currently. The true experts, e.g. Dr. Spencer, realize that the cooling effects of the weather are actually stonger than the warming effects of the sun and other warming factors.

Read the book, and quit worrying!

get your facts right on global warming been at it 27 years and like charities (rush to save the world have caused factors of countries dissolvement) have objected against deaf ears.
so fact been at this a long time fact know weather systems, check out gamma radiation and aura's likage and fact.
dogga bank – dogga land – sun rota on the axis.
don't write false words, jesus to day is not the man but a cartoon of events as the facts speak for themselves checkout before christians / word of the desert people and others of that date and period and they show a different person. fact

you are reading the wrong climate change as most doctor changed the original formated words and widened the picture and that is where the problem lies easy to write a book on the whole world, and not just fix personnal parts of the world. the balance needs to be maintained.

understand your confusion as that is what the climate change problem is a balancing act over the world like fine tuning a meal (you only choose the best)
greed and slowing down people is one of the major problems as this is the factor behind wars.

the world must maintain balance and so should every country .

barryworwood — Your posts sound like the ramblings of a person who is heavily intoxicated. For example:

1. "get your facts right on global warming been at it 27 years and like charities (rush to save the world have caused factors of countries dissolvement) have objected against deaf ears."

and

2. "you are reading the wrong climate change as most doctor changed the original formated words and widened the picture and that is where the problem lies…."

and

3. "jesus to day is not the man but a cartoon of events as the facts speak for themselves checkout before christians / word of the desert people and others of that date and period and they show a different person. fact"

4. "…check out gamma radiation and aura's likage and fact. dogga bank – dogga land – sun rota on the axis."

1. What are you talking about?!?
2. Can I assume that you have read Dr. Spencer's book? Or are you merely jumping to the conclusion that anything written that disagrees with your opinions is automatically incorrect and, thereby, "wrong"? Believe me when I tell you, I've had many similar conversations wherein the very same premature and unsubstantiated conclusions are drawn by equally misinformed individuals.
3. Who, prithy, are these "desert people" who are so wise in the truth? Name your references! There is all sorts of evidence and proof, both archeological and documentational, of the accuracy and purity of Bible scriptures that we have today.
4. "dogga bank – dogga land"??? Huh?

Look Barry, you can recite your unsubstantiated non-sense and gibberish all day and all night; however I stand by my original statements regarding Dr. Spencer's book, Climate Confusion — read it and then offer your critique! Until then, keep your gibberish and non-sense to yourself.

I'm outta here!

ok gibberish,
dogga land was the original land connection of britain and europe, new science tells a different story.
check out holland and the dinosaurs of the sea.
they call a global warning effect to day was the cause?

read the book and understand it's points but it has a flaw?

Dr Spencer is one of those who stop us from bringing forward people's ideas…….. the truth is those who in science today jump on the band wagon!
check out ted.com !

the idea is to fight for ideas to bring forward new ideas for which we need average people …. check sir tim words on intellengence and young to old – being people become fixed in there views ?

a poor person or young person is cleaver than most scientist over all subjects as they have designed themself to only walk one path. science fact.

I do not use climate as a fact / or most jibberish for or against .. nor do I care to be liked or disliked is about opening a mind who can make a difference … and you have one isaiah_53 so show your skill and talent now and you can clear your own path……

reference the dessert people of north palestine and iran into eygpt ….. john the baptist walked into the desert and meet with people those families travelled in and out of the desert for generation to find themselves and 'god or he who may not be named'

scientists and scholars named them as such!
I call them people looking to find away to inspire a better future?

look past the words?
global warming will only be solved by arguements of possibilities ?
world not have a trade free agreement being one,
so if you have not been informed ask why?

ask why india, china and america want trade sanctions ?
is it to play good samaritan or to stop people>

kashmere smuuggle rice into india to get a better price!
but they will not allow them to sell direct onto the open market …. so they get fat.. global warming is used to control people's movement and other tactic's.

groups of set people (charities and religion etc ) worldwide create blocks so they keep themselves at the top!

I like the prophet's the said religion should have no name … this then highlight's who really is to blame for the worl'd problems……..

you would be shocked to find out who and why!?

like the point of view

take care Barry..
ps
planning …..
solar future for africa
solar for europe

ps I was one of those people who stated that people will cause a collapse in america and worldwide for the simple fact when you take on a new house or business you must first stabilise that business or house and not over extend!

strange thing was I even got the dates correct?
I'm hated for that one?
but it was trying give them a chance to survive in business and there homes – strange thing is if you are correct to many times people hate you?

people stated my facts were wrong ?
but it is just basic common sense!
so is global warming when you have more money you end up getting greedy !
greed is global warming
ie
the wife is not good enough I will get a younger model?

from a man who does not want to be a millionaire?
just want to see everyone have a step up the ladder?
think that is noble it is not, been there done that!

take care
